My View

Inspiration is more than a light-bulb moment that strikes unexpectedly. It is often the result of a connection we hadn鈥檛 noticed before. Sometimes, all it takes is a slight shift in perspective to reveal a new set of possibilities.

On the door to my office hangs an image of an origami dragon. Beneath it, a caption reads, 鈥淎 lot can be made from the simplest of things.鈥� Though origami is a Japanese art form that works with one of the simplest materials 鈥� a square piece of paper 鈥� the possibilities are endless.

Often, we miss learning opportunities in our lives or in the classes we teach because they don鈥檛 fit our expectations. We tell ourselves we can鈥檛 learn from others because their experiences are too different.
