Sylvia Mitchell
Sylvia Mitchell, Ph.D., is an experienced educational leader with over 25 years of service in K鈥�12 public education. She has served as Superintendent of Schools, Vice President of Schools, Regional Chief, and Executive Director, leading large-scale instructional and operational systems across urban and suburban districts.
Known for her commitment to equity, access, and opportunity, Dr. Mitchell has turned around underperforming schools, developed leadership pipelines, and led districtwide improvement efforts across multiple states. She is the published author of two leadership books, a graduate of the National Superintendents Academy, and a proud member of The Leadership Forum, Cohort #9.
She most recently served as Superintendent at Legacy Traditional Schools鈥揟exas, and previously led district-level strategy and support at Region 4 Education Service Center in Houston.
